This is a terrific historical romance. Sophie Jordan weaves a very gripping story.
It begins with Lady Astrid Derring having to travel to Scotland from England, to find her ne'er-do-well husband who had left her after he spent her entire dowry. Along the way she meets a good looking man,Griffin Shaw, who saves her life as she is traveling. She is a woman who keeps herself well-controlled, and denies herself even small pleasures. Meeting Griffin has more of an effect on her than she cared for, and she tries to keep her distance. On top of all this, there is a group of men who end up taking her to their castle. She actually chooses to go as opposed to letting Griffin fight for her. Then things really get crazy.Griffin was in Scotland to find his family, and meeting Astrid was the last thing he planned. However, after saving her life, she started intriguing him. Can he teach her to love? Can she give herself to him completely?
A must read for HR fans! Loved it!
