"When the two brothers reached the treeline,they removed their goggles, which protected the eyes but limited visibility. Somewhat farther down the slope,they found a small stream that had begun as glacial melt seeping through fissures in the rock,flowed underground,then emerged filtered and cleared of silt in a sparkling spring.
