Book Review- A Light at Winter's End-Julia London

A terrific contemporary romance that keeps you reading! It begins with two sisters, Hannah and Holly. Hannah has a perfect life, a handsome husband, a career, a beautiful baby boy. She is the "responsible" one, the other sister, Holly is struggling to be a songwriter. Their mother always told Holly to be more like Hannah.
One afternoon as Holly was working on a song for a client, her sister came to her loft.Totally dropped a bomb on Holly that completely changed her life. She left her baby boy with Holly and just took off.
I don't want to tell you too much more, but the emotions that go through this story really touches you. Holly meets Wyatt out at her mom's old place, thus begins another complication in her life!
This really is a terrific novel, of love, loss, pain pill addiction, and forgiveness.
I highly recommend this love story. 5 cans of soda

Book review-Surrender to Me-Sophie Jordan

This is a terrific historical romance. Sophie Jordan weaves a very gripping story.
It begins with Lady Astrid Derring having to travel to Scotland from England, to find her ne'er-do-well husband who had left her after he spent her entire dowry. Along the way she meets a good looking man,Griffin Shaw, who saves her life as she is traveling. She is a woman who keeps herself well-controlled, and denies herself even small pleasures. Meeting Griffin has more of an effect on her than she cared for, and she tries to keep her distance. On top of all this, there is a group of men who end up taking her to their castle. She actually chooses to go as opposed to letting Griffin fight for her. Then things really get crazy.Griffin was in Scotland to find his family, and meeting Astrid was the last thing he planned. However, after saving her life, she started intriguing him. Can he teach her to love? Can she give herself to him completely?
A must read for HR fans! Loved it!

Seduced by Destiny by Kira Morgan is a charming, forbidden love historical romance. This is the 2nd book of Ms. Morgan's that I have read, and enjoyed thoroughly.

Josselin Ancrum goes to town dressed as a lad to get a glimpse of Mary,Queen of Scots. She gets into a bit of a scuffle with men there, where she happens to meet Drew. Drew is English and therefore a sworn enemy of the Scots-which Josselin is. She meets with the Queens secretary-Philipe( a Frenchman) and delivers the message that the Queen would like her to spy for her.
Now golf is the game in this novel, and she is setup as a beer server at the games where she will receive missives. Meantime her relationship with Drew is becoming more than she bargained for. Will Drew discover her real reason for being there? Is he a spy? Can she trust him?
Aw, well you must read for yourself!!
Very charming and enjoyable read.

This was certainly a unique novel. It begins as a narrative from a young girls point of view, living with her mom and 2 brothers. She had just lost her papa the year before, and now life was more difficult between her and her mother. At the same time, there is a war going on, between Britain and their country-Africa. The war is known as The Anglo-Boer War. The girl's name is Corlie, and her family had servants that helped her mother with daily chores. Corlie was fast friends with the son,Sipho. They would go and collect things, such as firewood, berries etc. The time came for them to move to a camp, and the story really unfolds from here. Its a very touching story.

I rate this story 4 soda's.

What to Expect When You Are Expecting by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel, put together an absolutely amazing reference book for moms-to-be! I was recently contacted to do a review and giveaway, and I am thrilled to do so!
I truly wish I would have had a book like this when I became pregnant with my first child. I remember the excitement, fear, tears, and mostly the NOT knowing!!
I tried to get advice from others, but everyone pretty much told me the same thing-every pregnancy is different. And how true that is! This book,has oodles of information: from how to care for yourself before you conceive to how to find the proper doctor for your care, and this book shows the mom to be all the things that are essential to a healthy pregnancy. Here's a small example of some of the chapters:
Chapter 2-Are You Pregnant? It tells you different ways you can establish pregnancy.
Chapter 6-The First Month- Approx. 1-4 weeks.What you can expect at your first prenatal visit!
Plus it has questions and answers to those questions,which you may relate to.
This book is an absolute must have for all moms to be!
So What would be a better gift for Mother's Day than a terrific reference book for pregnant moms? Which is why I am totally delighted to say that I have 5 Copies to give away! Here are the rules:

I received 2 free samples of Jericho's skin care products, one is eye gel and the other is body butter. I have been using the eye gel all around my eyes and this stuff is just incredible! I started noticing my eyelids were looking a bit droopy and I was getting bags under my eyes. They are both gone after using for a week! I was worried about dishing out serious money for eye creams, but I have found mine!! I will be using the body butter tomorrow after I shower but I am certain I will like that as well. Review- Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione

This book is the first in The Lords of Deliverance series. I must say though, that you should read the Demonica series first, as it does lead into this series. I only have the first two books in the Demonica series, but thankfully I knew the characters! Now for the good stuff.
Ares (War) is one of the Four Horsemen in charge of stopping Armageddon. However, a female human who has the ability to heal animals, gets caught up in a fight for her life. Respeth (Pestilence) is Ares brother who has turned completely evil, wreaking diseases all over the place. So the Three good Horsemen plus Cara (female human) are all out to stop Respeth and keep Cara alive.
I absolutely loved this book, the imagination, creativity,sexy scenes are just fantastic and very believable. I am totally hooked on Ms. Ione's books, and am now a fan permanently!
I give this book 5 sodas!

Book Review- Tuckers Claim by Sarah McCarty

This is the third book of the Hell's Eight series! Unfortunately I don't have #2-Sams Creed, however I do have Caine's Reckoning, which was excellent. As for this one, it is absolutely just as good as the first.
Tucker is half Native American and half white, he is one of Hell's Eight. He sent out to look for Desi's(Caine's wife) twin sister. Instead he meets Sally Mae who is totally against violence. She is also a widow, and a nurse to boot.Which isn't thought of as highly as it is today. I really liked the way Tucker took care of her, and especially when he fought for her. It's terrific! There is steamy sex scenes, one of which was a bit far fetched but good anyway! A very good book.
I give this book 3 1/2 sodas.

No Mercy is part of the Dark Hunter's series which I am rapidly becoming a fan of! In this book, Dev Peltier, a were-hunter, is in charge of the family biz. Which was a type of sanctuary of sorts, for certain preternatural creatures. However, that changed when the place was attacked. Meantime, Dev meets Sam, A Dark-Hunter,she just happens to be the sexiest woman he ever met. Only problem is they are supposed to be mortal enemies! This is a must for all Dark Hunter fans, lots of action!! I give this 4 cans of soda!

School uniforms have become standard in alot of schools. They have alleviated peer pressures such as what other kids have that they don't have. There are many good reasons for schools to use the uniforms. I think it also helps kids concentrate better, as they don't have to worry about who is wearing what! Book Review-Step On a Crack

A terrific James Patterson story. Michael Bennett, father of 10, is an NYPD Detective. His wife is in the hospital, and he is learning how to deal with her illness. Meantime, someone poisons the First Lady. A few days later, her funeral is held at St.Patrick's Cathedral. All kinds of celebrities show up for this event, and people are lined for blocks for the First Lady.
A bunch of men in ski masks and brown monk robes, take over the Cathedral! Michael is called to the scene to possibly help with negotiations. I dont want to give too much away, but suffice it to say that there is many twists to this story. I couldnt stop reading this one!

Book Review- Comanche Woman by Joan Johnston

This book takes place in Old time Texas, where there is Native Americans and white folk. It begins with Bayleigh Stewart ( one of three daughters of the wealthy plantation owner, Rip Stewart), she is kidnapped by raiding Comanche's and is taken to their tribe. The leader of the tribe, Many Horses takes her and cares for her, but doesnt abuse her in any manner. Meantime, her family doesnt know what to think after they had spent so much time looking for her. Her sister, Cricket married to Creed, and pregnant with their first child, asks Creed's friend, Long Quiet (half Comanche and Half white) to help find her sister. Long Quiet knows her sister as he was schooled in Boston, near where she went to school, and had fallen for her. However, she only had eyes for Jonas Harper at that time. Long Quiet agrees to look for her and does find her after fighting another tribe, and meeting Many Horses. From there Long Quiet set out to show Bayleigh that he really cares for her. From here the story picks up with more action and the budding romance between Bay and Long Quiet. I am definitely a fan of Ms. Johnston now, and look forward to reading many more of her books!
I rate this book a solid 4 sodas.

Little Switches That Make A Difference

For the longest time, I have lived in fear of change. Big or small, I found an excuse to not change. But over the past year, I lost my both of my parents, an uncle and an old friend. It made me think of all the things that I havent done that I wanted to do and realized that it will require change. And so I did!! First, I wanted to get my outlook on life in a better place. Success! I then discovered that I can do anything if I have the true desire to do it. And I do. So my next step, getting my house in order, my finances in order and not least of all, my health.I have started small with my health by drinking something other than soda at least once a day. Does it make a difference? Yes what I replaced 1 soda with has Vitamin C! I have also tried couponing -I am new to this- and have discovered that no matter how many you use, you will still save money!! Who wouldn't like that? Another small switch for me, finding products that are natural. Today I bought an acne product for my daughter that was not tested on animals and had no preservatives. I like that. Do small switches make a difference? Absolutely, even if you don't see it at first, they do. And over time those small switches can have a big impact, on whatever area you focus on.
My parents used to drink caffeinated coffee for years, then doctors told them to cut back the caffeine, and they did. At first they didn't notice any difference. Then they discovered that they didn't become irritable if they didn't have so many cups of coffee. That was a small switch that made them both happier and healthier-at least a little bit! Another example, water. Bottled water or tap water? Tap water is free and doesn't require recycling. A small switch that definitely makes a difference. Paper or plastic? Now, you can carry cloth bags and help save the environment! Another small switch that makes a difference. Gas is another item, you can now make a small switch to a Hybrid vehicle and save gas. There are so many ways to make small switches that make a difference, and its terrific knowing that we have those choices to make a difference.

Review-An Atlas of Impossible Longing

This is definitely an interesting read. It takes place in modern day India. A family starts a new life in a small town outside of Calcutta. When they first get there everything is nice. The husband moved them there so he could open his own "potions and pills" shop. He studied plants and flowers in the region to develop remedies. He worked constantly, while at home his wife and 2 sons were taking care of daily living. After the older son marries, the wife, kind of favored the younger son, and every day he would come and tell her everything going on in his life. But she still missed the life in Calcutta-where she was from. All her family still lived there and she couldnt understand her husbands fascination with living in such a small town. Finally her youngest son, goes and gets married. By this point, the wife is talking to herself and she suffers various ailments. It gets worse, she starts cursing at everyone around her, including at her sons new bride! Its tragic actually. There's even more tragedy to follow, and then a sweet love story. What I enjoyed about this novel is the descriptions of the places and people, and then the language! There is a glossary in the back so you can look up certain words! I enjoyed this very much. I give it 4 cans of soda!

I picked up this book at Walmart about 2 months ago, as the cover caught my attention! Anyhow, it was definitely not what I was expecting.
It starts at 3 women being held by bandits out in the wild territory of old Texas. There are 3 Texas Rangers,Caine, Sam and Tucker. They were informed that these ladies were missing and so they set out to find them.This is where Caine meets Desi. She has had a very rough life and when she meets Caine she didnt know what to make of him. This is what I love about this story, Caine's patience, understanding, and caring helped Desi through some seriously dark issues. she had been repeatedly raped, tortured.This book is also very adult, I wasnt expecting the actions/language that came about. It didnt bothe me, but if you want "clean" this isnt it! However I loved this one so much that I just bought Tucker's Claim, and I can't wait to dig into it!

I am a fan of Johanna Lindseys, but this one has topped the list of the 5 books of hers that I have read so far!
It takes place in Scotland and England. Lincoln Ross Burnett lost his father at a young age and his mom shut herself away, not paying much attention to him. He discovers a bunch of boys around the pond on his estate, and became best friends with Dougie. Some time goes by and Doug and Linc became great friends. Doug is one of 16 brothers, and so one day at the pond they all started teasing Doug.Including Linc. Next thing there's a major fight, they all thought Linc was beating up on Doug. (Not so). After a bit more trouble with these brothers,Linc's mother sends him to England to live with his uncle, who raises him and Linc becomes his heir. Linc goes with his family back to Scotland and Linc takes a ride out to the pond, and there he meets Melissa. From this moment on their relationship becomes complicated. The twists in here are unexpected, and thoroughly believable. I love how she used the Scottish language,very authentic. This is a very sweet, romantic love story.

Book Review The Silent Sea by Clive Cussler

As you know I am a major Clive Cussler fan! Mr. Cussler has a few different series, that are all enjoyable reads. However of the three,(that I know of) I absolutely love the Oregon Files series. The cast of characters are wonderful and easy to follow. In this adventure, Juan Cabrillo, Chairman of the Corporation, finds himself diving in a pit that 5 brothers once tried to find treasure in. Meantime there are bad guys looking for the same thing and are after Juan and his crew. His ship, The Oregon is just absolutely incredible. It is -on the outside- a rusty looking freighter. However, when Juan started his Corporation, he had the ship built with all the highest tech items he could get, and had it cleverly disguised on the ship. On top of that, Juan stands for whats right, sometimes against the rules. Such as in this novel, However I will say the ending of this one was fantastic. Don't want to spoil it. I absolutely recommend this novel.

Review-How to Marry A Duke by Vicky Dreiling

A terrific historical romance by Vicky Dreiling. At first I thought it might be a bit cliche, but I am happy to say I was wrong!
It takes place in London, the heroine,Tessa, is actually a spinster and a matchmaker! Yet she attends balls to help the "less fortunate" girls meet eligible men. As she an
ttends a specific ball, she just so happens to meet
Tristan, the Duke of Shelbourne.
The Duke, attended this ball to hopefully meet someone who wasnt a giggling, nimwit! The funny thing is, he was tired of fetching handkerchiefs and fans, he happens to step on one as he was avoiding some of the giggling gals. Well the fan happens to be Tessa's and that is how they meet. What happens next is funny, and I dont want to give away the whole story but suffice it say it was a true love story. I loved how the author describes the characters in here, you really feel like you know them. I will definitely buy/read her next book-"How to Seduce a Scoundrel" coming out in July 2011!

I am sorry to say that I didnt care for this "romance" novel.
It starts with Lady Anne Keighley and Lord Hawthorne, and they instantly get together and fall into bed, then her friend comes to visit and falls for Lord Hawthorne's cousin, Lord Colford. And again they instantly get together and gets right into bed, and yet a third time with Lord Hawthorne's ward, and Julian -Marquess of Silsby. This book had no chemistry, no romance, just a thrown together assembly of 3 couples. Quite disappointing.

Book Review -Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon

This is a Dark Hunter novel and it is absolutely terrific, PR.
It didnt take me long to whiz through this one. And now I have a new series I would love to read!
Kyrian of Thrace is the hero in this novel, and he just happens to be a Dark Hunter, which means he protects humans from things that go bump in the night.The heroine is Amanda, she is an accountant and comes from a family with all kinds of powers. She just wants to live a normal life. Until she goes to her sisters to take care of her dog and gets knocked out. She wakes up handcuffed to Kyrian. Desi is the bad guy in here and he is after Kyrian and does all kinds of nasty things to get to him.
The relationship between Kyrian and Amanda is wonderful to watch. The obstacles they overcome is truly inspirational in a way. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Kenyon, and I definitely want to see what happens next!
I give this book a solid 4 sodas!

Book Review- Desire Unchained-Larissa Ione

Desire Unchained by Larissa Ione is #2 in the Demonica series, and since I won the first one I was hooked! I had to get this one, and now I know she is one of my fave PR authors!
This 2nd one is about Shade, Eidolon and Wraith's brother, they had another brother Roag but they thought he had died years ago. Any how, Shade is more of a playboy type than his brother Eidolon. In the first book, Pleasure Unbound it was about how Eidolon finds his mate. Both of these novels are adult, with graphic details which I think are imperative to her stories, and which make them unique. Shade and Wraith have this ability to sense each others pain or when they may be in trouble, (that sure would come in handy!!)and Shade ends up chained in a dungeon, with a former lover of his. He had no idea how he got there. This really picks up and I just couldnt stop reading it! I dont want to give alot of the plot away, but if you read Pleasure Unbound, then this a must read for sure!
I give this book 4 1/2 sodas!

Book Review-Swimsuit by James Patterson

I just finished reading Swimsuit by James Patterson, and I absolutely loved it. It is not part of either of his series(Alex Cross, Women's Murder Mystery Club)so it is a stand alone. And it does not disappoint.
It starts in Hawaii with the disappearance of a young model, who was earning money for college.She decides to go for a walk on the beach. Next thing, she finds herself tied up in the trunk of a car.. Her parents receive a phone call in the middle of the night, and it turns their whole world upside down.
An ex-cop who works at a paper in Los Angeles, is sent to Hawaii for the scoop. Not realizing what he was walking into. He gets there and meets with the parents and tries to help them. And you get to meet the bad guy who is absolutely depraved. This was a true thriller and my rating is 5 sodas,this book is terrific.

Hi everyone, yesterday was my daughter-M's 17th birthday,and she got money for an upcoming field
trip to Six Flags Fiesta Texas! Plus,her stepdad(my guy) took her shopping and she bought two outfits, one a sundress and the other a shirt and shorts. And then he took her and her best friend to the movies and dinner at our mall. And as well as the money for the field trip I gave her a few more dollars and the DVD Bambi as she is collecting Disney movies! Plus, her grammy gave her some cash also,so I would say she had a really good birthday!! And I found out that I won two contests yesterday! At Debbies Book Bag I won the book The Mistress House!! Thank you Deb! And at Fishfulthinking I won a jar of Ricky and Lucy's Italian Seasoning! I cant wait to get these prizes! Meantime, I finally got my Amazon gift card that I won in Feb. from To Read Or Not to Read (Thank you again Marcie!!) and I picked two books from the Bargain section! I picked Step On A Crack by James Patterson and Larissa Iones book 2 in the Daemonica series, both books have shipped already!!And today I got my coupons that I won from Little Simplicity!(Thank you!!). I have started couponing, and I have just started my price book and Im learning as I go here! I am going to try to earn some extra cash, as our daughter_M will be graduating next year and I want to throw her a decent party!Thanks for reading!

Book Review-Silent Mercy-Linda Fairstein

This is a decent detective novel. It takes place in NY, the 2 main characters are Alexandra,who is a lawyer and works with sexually assaulted victims, and Mike the homicide detective. It begins with a young woman who has been decapitated, and left in front of a church in a rough area of New York. Mike and Alex then question the caretaker and they search the area for clues.As they are working on this case, Alex is also caught up in a case with a petulant teenager who claimed rape against a boy she was going to school with. And of course, Dad doesnt believe she did anything wrong! From there, they meet up with a few different characters that are just a supporting cast in the story. Then there is another killing, and now Mike and Alex are starting to figure out that there is a religous connection, they just have to find out what it is!
I enjoyed it. I give it 3 cans of sodas.

The Altar of Bones by Philip Carter

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

One word-Fantastic! This is truly a masterful piece of suspense/thriller storytelling!

It starts in Siberia(brrr)with a young woman who is in possession of a secret. She helps her so called boyfriend escape from the prison she works in, and they end up in this cave. This takes place a long time ago. Jump to the present. An old man,father of 2 grown sons,ends up in the hospital pretty much on his death bed. His one son, Dom is a priest, his other son, Ry works for the DEA. Well the old man wanted to confess something to his son Ry, not Dom. Dom was the only one available, so he tells Dom this story. Jump again to California where an older woman is murdered but she leaves a message for her granddaughter(who didnt know about her until this happened!) who then goes on a mission that puts her in terrible danger. All these events are connected in a way you cannot possibly predict! I absolutely loved this book!

I am such a Cussler fan,I admit it.If you like adventure/action stories you must read a Dirk Pitt novel! I really enjoy how he incorporates the past with the present without it being tedious. Love it. Ok now a bit about the story!
It starts in an airfield in Colorado. This big, huge plane is about to fly a secret mission in the 1950's.The plane is heavily loaded, and the pilot was concerned with takeoff. Well, they did take off. But did not make their intended destination.Jump to present day. Dirk Pitt is enjoying some alone time with his lady friend in a cabin in Colorado.Dirk discovers a find in her garage that compelled him to investigate.And from here it really engages you with another situation that is also occuring. I cannot stress enough, if you havent been on a Dirk Pitt adventure, you are sorely losing out!

To say the least this book is hard to describe! It is not a romance or thriller so I am just going to go with general fiction!
Its about a Heart Clinic which is run by Clara-almost divorced,mom of 2 grown girls. She then has to pick people to work at the clinic. She then meets Ania, a young girl from Poland, who came to Ireland as she felt she shamed her mother. After this you meet all kinds of people who either work there at the clinic, or are patients there. It pretty much tells you about each of their lives, and it was interesting how one place brought so many people together! A nice read.

This was a nice quick romantic read. A Harlequin Intrigue book. About the story.
Mckenna Bailey had her eye on this house that just came onto the market. It is adjacent to her familys ranch,so she figured this would be the perfect place to run her own horse ranch. There's only one problem, this house has a troubled past, and a stranger comes into town and is tied to the house. There is definitely Intrigue in this story. As I said this was a quick read.

Another terrific Stephanie Plum novel! She works for her cousin Vinnie as a "recovery agent". In this book, Kenny Mancuso is wanted for missing his court appearance. He is also related to Joe Morelli, who Stephanie kinda works with, he is a cop. This takes place in Trenton, NJ. You cant help but love the characters in this series. I am now especially fond of Grandma Mazur (she packs!) and I definitely like Stephanie. If you havent read a Stephanie Plum novel, please put it on your wishlist! This is definitely my favorite series by a female author.

I bought this book with my own money.

Back in December I had won a contest for an Alight blouse, and I was real excited about it (who couldnt use a new item of clothing?) well I have emailed the person who held the giveaway and she replied to let me know if I didnt receive it in 2 weeks. I just finished reading my first Stephanie Plum novel, and I totally loved it! I have seen her books for awhile and I finally got to reading it, and I just couldnt stop reading! I am now reading Two For The Dough. I love how she enhances characters and adds new ones.

Stephanie Plum loses her job as a buyer from a local store. Her mom then suggests she goes to work for her cousin Vinnie at his Bail Bond place. So she decides that she would like to have some cash and so goes to see Vinnie.

She gets a job alright. but you have to read this to see how it goes!!

This book won the 2010 RITA award, and I can see why. It is a cant put down book! Laura Griffin sure knows how to capture your interest right from the first page!

Courtney is a hairstylist who becomes involved in a high profile murder.She becomes a suspect, meanwhile the new detective on the case doesnt quite believe she's guilty.There's an attraction between the two even though there shouldnt be. Courtney then becomes a target and is in fear for her life.
If you like a good romantic suspense, this is quite good. This is my first Laura Griffin, and for sure it wont be my last.
I give this book 4 cans of soda!

Book Review Diamonds Are Forever

This book was just an incredible read.First, I must say I wasnt sure what to expect. But as I began reading I got caught up in it very quickly. Now to tell ya a little about it.
Cord Calloway is a minor league baseball player who dreams of making it to the big leagues. He starts seeing this beautiful doctor, Indy. One day he was riding his bike when he was run off the road and suffered a severe head injury. When he wakes, he has no recollection of dating Indy, but dating his ex-Cate. And from there he is on a journey to discover how he feels and who he feels for. There is also the fact that he hadnt been to church, and again, he is on a journey to find his way. There's quite a few twists in here that I never saw coming. This really reinforced my belief in true love!
I give this book a solid 4 cans of soda!
I bought this book.

The Wildwater Walking Club by Claire Cook is a terrific read for any woman who is going through some life changes and could use a little inspiration/motivation. The humor is wonderful, and you get easily caught up in the main characters life.
A bit about the story.
A 40+something woman has been working at this same company for 15+ yrs, when the company decides to undergo changes. So she is offered a buyout, and she decides to take it. At first she doesnt know what to do with herself and its kind of funny how she meets the ladies that join her later on in the story. The warmth and depth of the characters make you feel right along with them, and I love that.

Book review- Shifting Plains by Jean Johnson

This is the first shapeshifting book I have ever read, and while the concept is interesting Im not really a fan. However I did find the story fascinating and so I kept reading. A bit about the story. A young girl lives in a village with her father, well her father is killed by some bandits who pillage their village. She was watching and waiting to avenge her fathers death. She shifted into her striped cat form and went after one of the bandits as well as another shapeshifter was there taking care of the other bandits. This is where boy meets girl! If you like a nice easy, gentle read this is it. I give this 3 sodas, for originality mainly.

Hi everyone, I wanted to write a post a little about me. Last summer my mom had passed away, and I had taken the Greyhound from here in South TX to Pgh Pa,a 2 1/2 day trip. Well about a week after the funeral my dad had a yard sale to raise some extra money for the funeral costs. He asked me to help lift this bookcase that was really tall and made of real wood-not particle board. Anyway, when I lifted my end (to get it out the door) I felt something go wrong with my knee. At first I thought I just wrenched it. Wrong. I came home about two weeks later, my knee hurting like crazy. I never told my dad, I just kept taking Advil hoping it would just go away. It didnt. A month and half later my dad passes away, only this time I got to fly to Pgh. Thank goodness, I couldnt take a bus trip with the way my knee was! Anyway, I had one changeover and wouldnt you know I had to walk clear across to the other side of the terminal? It was agony because I only had so much time! well my visit this time was alot shorter (1 week) but my knee just wouldnt stop hurting. But I tried not to let on anything was wrong, everyone was real upset as it was losing both my parents in the span of 2 months! Anyhow, I get home and figured I would just take it easy, not push walking too much. Meantime, I had told my honey all about it, and he said maybe i just pulled a muscle sometimes it takes awhile to heal. Jump to today, I finally go to my PCP, and I told him about it. He felt my knee and then got this needle and yow did I YELL! It hurt sooooo bad. He asked how I felt after the shot, I said it didnt change anything! He said (get this) I probably have a fracture and I need to get an Xray! so I am going to get that done here really soon, as I cant take going up and down the steps here to my apt. And the pain just doesnt quit. It doesnt help that I gained 12 lbs in 2 months! So anyway, wonder what they will do for knee? Okay enough about my discomfort-(I hate that word!) You will feel some discomfort...yeah called PAIN!! LOL Ok, changing subjects!

Book Review Glorious Angel by Johanna Lindsey

Yeah I finished another book last night- Actually started and finished! Glorious Angel by Johanna Lindsey, one of my favorite authors of historical romances. This one takes place in the 1800's in Alabama during the Civil War. A young girl being raised by her father live on a small piece of land owned by a wealthy family. Angela is the young girl who falls in love with one of the owners sons, Bradford. At first he sees her as a young girl, but then time goes by and she becomes quite the looker and has problems with other guys, who are after her. But she only has eyes for one man. Now how they get together is something you need to read for yourself! This is a heartwarming story, and I must say enjoyable characters. The copy I have was written in 1982! I myself was 12!!LOL
I rate this romance 3 sodas

I love Kate Perry's series-The Guardians of Destiny series, I have the first one, "Marked by Passion" and I had won this,Tempted by Fate. the 3rd in the series. I need to get #2 for sure. I devoured this book!
I love a romance with action and chemistry and this book hit it right on the head!
There are 4 chosen people to be Guardians and they are taught how to use their powers, each power
represents Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Water is next in the series.
A bit of the story- A young girl loses her mother at the age of 10 to the Bad Man (he killed her).Her mother had passed her powers to her daughter, and then spent years teaching her how and when to use it.
Well she grows up searching for the man who killed her mother, and is lured to San Fransisco (where 2 other Guardians are) and she meets this good looking cop... not exactly what she had planned on! Ok, I dont want to give too much away, but I just love this series and I am definitely a Kate Perry fan!!

Mr. Cussler sure knows how to write adventures, if you havent ever read a Dirk Pitt adventure,you sure dont know what you're missing!
It begins in Antarctica as a couple who were on an old whaling ship that got stuck in an ice floe make an incredible discovery. And from there, it just gets better. And you will love the gadgets that Mr. Pitt uses in this story! Mr. Cussler, I LOVE the skycar!!! I digress. A miner in Colorado discovers an artifact similar to the first discovery. But you must read to find how they intermix (and they do).I love a good adventure, and Mr. Cussler has yet to write a book I havent liked! (Loved, enjoyed)
